Jose Varella Barca

Jose Luis dos Santos Varella Barca is a 4th degree black belt under Master Julio Cesar Pereira.  Master Cesar is a highly regarded grappling instructor and an 8th-degree Red and White belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is well known for his work with GF Team (Grappling Fight Team) formerly known as UGF - Universidade Gama Filho (Gama Filho University), Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program and team he co-founded. Jose was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  He has been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 23 years and has been instructing for more than 15 years. His most prestigious titles include: Pan Ams Gi and No Gi Champion, American Nationals No Gi Champion amongst several other titles however his favorite title is father and husband. When he's not at the gym, you can find him experimenting in the kitchen with the latest plant-based recipe with his girls.
